DNA is a Los Angeles based production company and we brought a Kohl's Department Store project to South Africa for several reasons, but mainly casting and of course the weather. The Kohl's client shoots 5 very large campaigns every year around the world and has strong organizational demands. Casting is crucial. I use Filmit as my in-house database. Image material reaches us in various ways. The system simply deals with all this image input and saves us the hassle. It enables us to do »type« searches on all available models that we have come across in the past at the click of a button. Its fast and intuitive way to add details into the database, produces excellent search results.

I expected a sound database solution for my castings, and that is what this system delivers. What I did not expect is its incredible speed. Even if we have really big jobs, it is now one person who does what three used to do. What also saves us a great deal of time: We now get multiple copies of a presentation - recent or from the past - by means of a mouse click.

Filmit was invaluable to us on our feature project 10,000 BC. After searching the software solutions in this area, it proved to be the most flexible and economical solution for us. We needed to use one mobile database, which was searchable and could facilitate the pictures of thousands of extras that were cast on the project, We really pushed the program very hard, over a long period, and were reliant on it as an organization and information centre.
